While forgotten today, Battery Rodgers was part of the perimeter defenses for Washington DC. Located in Alexandria Virginia, it served only as a deterrent and never saw combat.
Sold quickly after the war, today it is a residential neighborhood and only has a small plaque in a park to mark the spot.
