John Lorimer Worden
Rear Admiral John Lorimer Worden, the commander of the U.S.S. Monitor in the first battle against the U.S.S. Virginia in 1862.br/The reason Worden looks so frail is due to the circumstances of this photograph. When he was returning home from a secret dispatch mission to deliver orders he was arrested in Alabama, and held prisoner for 7 month. Sometime shortly after this release, this photograph was taken.br/br/A cat also seemingly snuck in to the photograph and is hiding under a chair.
